Discover the Hydro Drip Bar Experience: What to Expect When You Visit

The Hydro Drip Bar Team 7 min read June 2026

You've probably heard about IV therapy — maybe from a friend who swears by it after a long weekend, or from scrolling past a wellness post about energy and skin glow. But if you've never walked through the doors of an IV bar before, it's natural to have questions. What actually happens during a session? Who's running it? Is it right for you?

This guide is your complete introduction to The Hydro Drip Bar — who we are, what we do differently, and exactly what to expect from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave feeling replenished.

Who We Are: The People Behind the Drip

The Hydro Drip Bar — Gluta Hub was founded by Ricky Sarmiento, RN, BSN and Mary Grace Sarmiento, RN, BSN — a husband-and-wife team of registered nurses with a combined background in clinical care and a shared passion for accessible wellness. Their goal from the beginning was simple: bring the quality of nurse-administered IV therapy out of the hospital setting and into a welcoming, spa-like environment that anyone could walk into.

That vision led to three California locations — in Temecula, Mira Mesa/San Diego, and National City — all built around the same philosophy: clinical expertise delivered with genuine warmth.

Every treatment at The Hydro Drip Bar is performed under the supervision of our Medical Director, Dr. Guillermo Castillo, MD, who is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Having a physician-supervised protocol isn't just a formality — it means your treatment plan is grounded in evidence-based medical standards, and there's a licensed clinician accountable for the quality and safety of every drip we administer.

Unlike some wellness bars staffed by non-clinical personnel, every IV at The Hydro Drip Bar is administered by licensed Registered Nurses — not medical assistants or unlicensed staff. That distinction matters for both your safety and your results.

What Makes The Hydro Drip Bar Different

IV therapy has grown into a crowded space, and not every provider operates at the same standard. Here's what sets The Hydro Drip Bar apart:

  • Licensed RN administration: All IVs are started and monitored by Registered Nurses — professionals trained in vascular access, fluid management, and clinical monitoring. This is the standard you should expect from any IV therapy provider.
  • Physician medical oversight: Dr. Guillermo Castillo provides medical direction for all protocols, ensuring that formulations, dosages, and procedures meet the standard of care.
  • Three convenient California locations: Whether you're in Temecula, Mira Mesa, or National City, there's a Hydro Drip Bar close to you — and walk-ins are welcome at all three.
  • A welcoming, non-clinical atmosphere: Our spaces are designed for comfort, not anxiety. Think relaxing chairs, soft lighting, and staff who are genuinely happy to answer your questions.
  • Transparent pricing with no hidden upsells: You'll know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before anything starts.

We also operate as a true Gluta Hub — meaning glutathione-based skin brightening and antioxidant therapy is a core speciality, not just an add-on service. If skin health and luminosity are among your goals, you're in the right place.

Your First Visit: Step by Step

If you've never had IV therapy before, knowing what to expect makes the experience much less intimidating. Here's what a typical first visit looks like at The Hydro Drip Bar:

  1. Arrive and check in: Walk in or arrive for your booked appointment. Our front-of-house team will welcome you and get you checked in. First-timers will fill out a brief health intake form — this takes about 3–5 minutes and helps our RN understand your goals and flag any contraindications.
  2. Consult with your RN: Before starting any drip, your administering RN will review your intake form, ask a few questions about how you're feeling, and explain the treatment you've selected. This is your chance to ask anything you want to know — about the ingredients, the process, what to expect, or anything else on your mind.
  3. Get comfortable: You'll be seated in one of our comfortable recliners. Most clients bring headphones, a book, or just enjoy the quiet. Sessions typically run 30–60 minutes depending on the drip.
  4. IV placement: Your RN will clean the site, typically the inside of your elbow or forearm, and insert a small IV catheter. Most clients describe the needle stick as a brief pinch — once the catheter is in, you shouldn't feel much beyond a mild pressure.
  5. The drip begins: Your nutrient solution is connected and flows at a controlled rate. Your RN will check in on you throughout the session to make sure you're comfortable and the IV is running well.
  6. Finish and recover: Once your session is complete, your RN removes the catheter and applies a small bandage. Most clients feel noticeably refreshed within minutes — and the full effects continue to build over the next several hours.

From arrival to departure, most first visits run about 60–75 minutes total. Returning visits with a pre-booked appointment typically take 45–60 minutes.

Our Treatment Menu: What We Offer

The Hydro Drip Bar offers a focused menu of IV drip treatments and vitamin shots designed to address the most common wellness goals our clients bring through the door. Here's an overview:

IV Drip Treatments

  • Gluta Max ($229): Our signature skin brightening drip — 2,000 mg glutathione + 2,500 mg Vitamin C. The cornerstone of our Gluta Hub identity.
  • Myer's Cocktail ($229): The classic wellness IV — B-vitamins, Vitamin C, magnesium, and electrolytes. A foundational treatment for energy, immune support, and overall replenishment.
  • Energy Boost ($199): High-dose B-vitamins and amino acids for mental clarity, physical endurance, and sustained energy without the crash.
  • Fountain of Youth ($229 — Most Popular): Our most-requested drip. Targets oxidative stress, collagen support, and whole-body vitality.
  • Hangover ($229): Rapid rehydration, anti-nausea compounds, and B-vitamins to help you recover fast after a rough night.
  • Immune Booster ($229): High-dose Vitamin C and immune-supporting nutrients for proactive defense or rapid recovery from illness.
  • Migraine ($199): Magnesium, B-vitamins, and anti-inflammatory agents formulated specifically for migraine relief and prevention.

Vitamin Shots

For a faster, more affordable option that doesn't require an IV, our vitamin shots are administered intramuscularly in just a few minutes:

  • B12 — $20
  • Biotin — $25
  • Amino Acid Blend — $25
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid — $30
  • Amino Acid Blend + B12 — $35

Shots are popular as standalone treatments and as add-ons between IV sessions to maintain consistent nutrient levels. Ask our team which combination makes the most sense for your specific goals.

How Our Membership Works

Consistent IV therapy delivers far better results than a single one-off session — and our membership plans are designed to make that consistency easy and affordable. We offer three tiers:

  • Essential — $149/month: Includes 1 IV drip per month. A solid starting point for clients who want to build a regular wellness practice.
  • Premier — $199/month: Includes 1 IV drip + 1 vitamin push per month. Great for clients who want the added benefit of a targeted shot alongside their monthly drip.
  • Ultimate — $279/month: Includes 2 IV drips per month. For clients with more active wellness goals — skin brightening, performance optimization, or ongoing recovery support.

All memberships roll over on a monthly basis and can be used at any of our three California locations. If you're not sure which tier is right for you, our RN team is happy to make a recommendation based on your goals during your first visit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Your First Visit

Do I need a doctor's referral to come in?

No referral is needed. Simply walk in or book online — our RN team handles the clinical intake directly. If you have a complex medical history, our team may ask a few additional questions to ensure your treatment is appropriate.

Does IV therapy hurt?

The initial needle stick is the only moment of discomfort — most clients describe it as a brief pinch, similar to getting a blood draw. Once the catheter is placed, you shouldn't feel any pain. Some clients notice a mild, cool sensation as the fluid runs in, especially with certain formulations.

How will I feel afterward?

Most clients notice increased alertness, improved energy, and a general sense of well-being within 30–60 minutes of their session. Hydration effects are often immediate. Skin-focused benefits from treatments like the Gluta Max drip are cumulative and tend to become more noticeable after multiple sessions.

How often should I come in?

It depends on your goals. For general wellness maintenance, once or twice a month is typical. For specific goals like skin brightening or athletic recovery, your RN may recommend a more frequent initial schedule. Our membership plans make regular visits easy to budget for.

Is IV therapy safe?

When administered by licensed RNs under physician oversight — as it is at every Hydro Drip Bar location — IV therapy is very well tolerated by healthy adults. Our team screens every new client with a health intake and asks the right questions to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you. As with any clinical procedure, there are rare risks (bruising at the IV site, mild lightheadedness), which your RN will discuss with you before starting.
